1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Omi (“Omi”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you use the Omi iOS app (bundle ID live.omega.app) and our related servers.

This policy applies to information processed through the Omi app, our API hosted on Railway, Cloud Firestore, AWS S3 photo storage, LiveKit Cloud for live video, and safety review performed with Anthropic. It does not apply to other users’ conduct, or to Apple, Google, or payment processors acting as independent controllers of their own services.

3. Information we collect

We collect only what is needed to run a safe live video chat product, create your account, show you to other adults who are online, process optional subscriptions, and enforce our rules. We do not ask for your home address, government ID, contacts list, or precise GPS location.

3.1 Account and identity

• Sign-in identity. When you continue with Apple or Google we receive a provider user ID and, if the provider shares it, an email address and display name. We do not receive or store your Apple or Google password.
• Hide My Email. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose Hide My Email, we receive Apple’s private relay address (typically ending in privaterelay.appleid.com), not your personal inbox.
• Username you choose (3–20 letters, numbers, or underscore). Usernames are public on your profile.
• Birthday. Used only to confirm you are 18+ and to calculate the age shown on your profile. Other users see your age, not your full date of birth.
• Gender you select (female or male). Used for profile display and Explore filters.
• Country and language codes from your device locale (for example TR / tr). These are not GPS coordinates. We use them to show a flag and language on your profile and to apply Explore filters. We do not request Location Services permission.

3.2 Profile photos and verification selfie

• Profile photos you upload from the camera or photo library. Photos are compressed on our servers and stored so other users can see your profile.
• Optional verification selfie. If you choose “Get a Verified Profile”, we take a live camera selfie (gallery photos are not accepted) and compare it to your first three profile photos. The selfie is stored for 14 days and then deleted. Face matching is used only for this one-time check.

• Online presence. When you are connected, other users can see that you are online and can invite you.
• Invites and call signaling. We process who invited whom, accept/decline, and temporary room identifiers so a call can start.
• Live audio and video. Camera and microphone are used only during a call you join. We do not operate a call-recording feature and do not keep a library of your live streams.
• Reports. If you report someone we store the reason (sexual harassment, inappropriate content, hate or harassment, spam or scam, appears underage, or other), optional details, an optional screenshot you or the app attach for review, reporter and reported user IDs, time, and if available the room ID.
• Blocks. We store who blocked whom so those users cannot invite each other.

• Engeller. Kim kimi engellediğini, birbirlerini davet edemesinler diye saklarız.

3.4 Device, session, and preferences

• App-generated device ID (HWID). The app creates a random identifier on the device and stores it locally so we can bind one account to one device and reduce abuse. This is not your IDFA, IDFV used for ads, phone IMEI, or a hardware serial we read from Apple.
• Session token (JWT) stored on the device so you stay signed in.
• Explore filters (gender, country, language preference) kept on the device during use. Session data is persisted locally so you do not have to sign in every time.
• Invite count for the free invite allowance (5 invites, then Omi Pro is required).
• Pro status and App Store transaction identifiers if you subscribe, so we can unlock features and restore purchases.
• Technical logs that servers may generate (time, error messages, request path) to keep the service running. We do not sell these.

You can refuse a permission in iOS Settings. Some features will not work without it. We do not request tracking (ATT / IDFA), contacts, precise location, or motion data.

4. How we use information

• Enforce the 18+ rule, username rules, and photo rules with automated review.
• Optional face verification so others can see a verified badge.
• Process reports and blocks, and remove or suspend accounts that break the rules.
• Limit free invites and unlock Omi Pro after an App Store subscription.
• Localize the app (English / Turkish) using device language and country.
• Prevent multi-accounting and abuse using the app-generated device ID.
• Respond to support mail sent to onurkaplan35@gmail.com.
• Comply with law and App Store requirements, including account deletion.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your photos, selfie, or live video to train public advertising models or to build a face-recognition product we sell to others.

• Legal obligation — responding to lawful requests and keeping limited records of serious abuse or child-safety reports as required by law.

We share information with other users only as part of the product (your public profile and live media you send in a call). We share with service providers who process data on our instructions:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect users from imminent harm, or in a merger or sale of the service (you will be notified if that happens). We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with data brokers or advertising networks.

7. Live video, camera, and microphone

Live video is peer-to-peer via LiveKit’s media servers for the duration of the call. You can mute, turn the camera off, or end the chat at any time. The other person can also end the chat.

8. Photos and content review

Every profile photo is scanned before it is accepted. We reject nudity, sexual content, anyone who appears under 18, graphic violence, hate symbols, and obvious spam (QR codes, contact-only ads). Ordinary photos of clothed adults — including more than one adult — are allowed. This is safety review, not a dating-style attractiveness score.

Usernames are checked against abuse, sexual, and hate terms. A rejected username or photo is not published.

9. Face verification (sensitive data)

• Purpose: confirm the person on camera looks like the person in your first three profile photos, then show a verified badge.
• Data: one live selfie image plus the three profile images already on your account.
• Processor: Anthropic performs the comparison. We do not share the selfie with other users.
• Retention: the verification selfie file is kept up to 14 days, then deleted. A verified flag may remain on the account until you delete the account or we remove verification for safety.
• Refusal: you can use Omi without verifying. You can also delete your account at any time.

10. Sign in with Apple and Google

Omi offers Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google. Apple’s guideline requires Sign in with Apple when another third-party login is offered; we comply. You can revoke Omi’s access from your Apple ID or Google Account settings. That does not automatically wipe data already stored on Omi — use Delete my account in Settings for that.

11. Device identifier

The random device ID is stored in the app’s local storage and on our servers, linked to your user ID. It is used to restore the same account on that device and to stop a second account from claiming the same device. It is not used for advertising. Clearing the app or deleting the account removes our server copy; uninstalling may leave a local copy until the app data is wiped.

Omi does not use third-party advertising SDKs, does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, and does not access the advertising identifier (IDFA) to track you across other companies’ apps and websites. We do not run cross-app behavioral advertising. If we later add analytics or ads that qualify as “tracking” under Apple’s rules, we will update this policy and show the system prompt before tracking.

13. Purchases

Omi Pro is sold as auto-renewable subscriptions through the Apple App Store (weekly, monthly, yearly product IDs com.omega.weekly.plan, com.omega.monthly.plan, com.omega.yearly.plan). Apple processes the payment. We receive product and transaction identifiers so we can unlock Pro and restore purchases. We do not receive your full card number. Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms.

• Account profile — until you delete the account or we close it for a rules violation.
• Photos — until you remove a photo or delete the account. Replaced photos are deleted from storage when the new one is saved.
• Verification selfie — up to 14 days.
• Live media — not kept as a call archive.
• Reports and screenshots — as long as needed to investigate, enforce rules, and meet legal duties (typically up to 24 months unless law requires longer).
• Blocks — until you unblock or delete the account.
• Device ID binding — until account deletion.
• Pro transaction IDs — as long as needed for restore, accounting, and fraud prevention.
• Server logs — typically a short operational window (days to a few weeks) unless needed for security.

We use HTTPS, authenticated API tokens, hashed secrets on the server, and access-controlled photo URLs. LiveKit keys stay on the server. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Do not share illegal content or other people’s intimate images. If you believe your account was compromised, email us immediately.

16. Your rights and account deletion

Depending on where you live (including GDPR, UK GDPR, KVKK, and similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. You can also export a copy of the main data on your profile by contacting us.

You can also log out, unblock users, remove individual photos, and decline camera or microphone access in iOS Settings.

17. Children and age

Omi is 18 years or older only. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Birthday is required and under-18 sign-up is blocked. If you believe a minor is using Omi, report them in the app (reason: they look underage) and email onurkaplan35@gmail.com. We will remove the account and related data as required by law, including COPPA where it applies.

18. International transfers

You may use Omi from Türkiye or other countries. Our API, Firestore, LiveKit, and Anthropic may process data in the European Union, the United States, or other regions where those providers operate. Photo objects are stored in AWS S3 eu-central-1 (Frankfurt). Where required, we rely on the provider’s appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).

Fotoğraf nesneleri AWS S3 eu-central-1 (Frankfurt) üzerinde tutulur. Gerektiğinde sağlayıcının uygun güvencelerine (ör. Standart Sözleşme Maddeleri) dayanırız.
